Heys guys, after having an edit custom tune done during the week I have noticed when I have the transmission in manual mode (seq shift) and shifting manually from 1st to second under accelleration it clunks into second with the rear wheels giving a little chirp.

I have a standard auto transmission and was wondering if this is something that is adjusted when the custom tune is done and if this is to harsh for a standard trans, should I take it back for a softer gear change.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Deano

Trust me, its fine.....

If you leave the gearbox to its own devices with a custom tune it will fry itself... What kills these boxes is the slippage. If you take that slippage out you increase the life of the gearbox, and at the same time make the shifts faster.

It should be softer in D though, since the manual mode was meant to have noticably faster shifts from the factory (it wasn't). Now there is actually a use for it, other than burnouts and engine braking....

[PS]

It's a nizpro tune... It has come to the point now that all you have to say is,

"it was tuned by niz."

And then everyone stops you before you can finish it off with,

"It will be fine mate."

Its been done as part of the custom tune.Ive been told its better to have a firmer/harsher shift as it means there is less slipping..If you can handle the hard changes then definately leave it as is..
