I thought my diff was on the way out as when I was turning at low speeds or reversing out the drive on to the road I was getting a bad clunking sound.Turns out to be the clutches in the diff were grabing,so I have had penrite limslip additive added to the diff oil which has solved the problem,just a tip for anyone else suffering from the same problem.

Did your diff have the MOFOCO recommended additive in it in the first place? The new Castrol oil has the additive included in it (Castrol SAF-XA 80w 140).

When the dealer worked on my diff, he replaced the oil with good old hypoid (I could smell it a mile away) which is not what is meant to be in there. He was not happy about being told to replace it with the correct oil. It seems the workshop manager was ignorant about which was the correct oil for it. He seemed to take exception to being told by a customer that he had fcuked up. I won!

now that you have mentioned it my problems started after I had a oil leak in the diff and took it back to the dealer to be fixed.It is very possably they didnt put the right oil in.
