Don't know whether it made a difference or not - but they just showed his video on the TV, it's been the only one to do so, so far ... it's not over yet but we'll keep our fingers crossed

a load of publicity (I guess it'd be like the MMM/B105/Today FM ads we get on our TV's) and a sweet DV cam.
