Ford Flashing

Hey guys I was wondering if any of you have put your car in for a service with Ford (reluctantly) and requested that they not reflash your car. If so what was the reply, I have an edit and dont want it reflashed is possible.

hey mate,

if you only have edit, and no other hardware that requires a tune to run on standard map, I'd flash it back to standard before service. My car has components added so I cant run a factory tune, but I simply told them not to flash it... obviously they know about the mods.. so it might be a different situation. I'm sure you can request not to have it flashed though. It may arouse their suspicions though, so I guess the choice is yours.

Hey mate,

I would say don't get it done. I have a standard XR6T and it has been running great. It was fisrt suggested to me by ford when I told them I thought the car was using too much fuel. Since then my fuel consumption improved on its own.

When I took the car to ford for a 30K service I expressed my concerns with tuning and they simply said the choice was mine. So I said no.

On top of this, the dealer told me that highway patrol took theirs there and had it done and came back a week or two later saying they had lost performance.
