Oh traction control is really handy in the wet, so try and scam a BF if you can!!!!

Also stock 6sp clutches are quite heavy......much heavier than F6 twin plates, so dont worry too much about the clutch.

Cheers and welcome aboard.

I bought a BF ute with a 6sp auto and factory 18's for $39800 on the road.

I reckon time will prove this to be the best transmission of all. Besides the 6sp auto option, don't forget that as well as traction control, you get a stock 480nm and greater lattitude for the tuners to play with cam timing as that functinality has been improved in the BF engine, and don't forget that the BF Turbo gets bigger brakes as standard (actually 5mm bigger front rotors than the BA upgrade brakes) and as well as that, imho a better looking front bumper.

I can tell you for certain, the 6sp auto is a heap quiker car stock than my previous 4 sp auto BA. I reckon, if you are trying to decide BAII or BF if you add up all the little upgrades they are worth the extra spend and don't forget that next time you will be trading the newer model.

I bought it from Pesident Ford in Melbourne. In my previous business (large tyre service) I dealt with heaps of car dealers over a 12 year period so I learnt how the car industry works and I have no trouble at buying a car at dealer cost.

Trust me, the BF 6sp auto is the best Xr I have had by a mile and I think this is the 5th one I have owned. If you read all the articles so far on the new BF you will find that outwardly not much appears to have changed, but there are heaps of small techical changes which make it significantly better. I always buy utes as the cost about $6k less initially and the trade 3 years later for about $3k more than a sedan plus they are exempt from FBT (in the case of a company - not sure about privately owned) so I roll em over every 3 years or less for about $12K - $14K

Only dowside with a ute is the rear end can bounce a bit on rough roads particularly if it is lowered as mine is but on this one I added Bilstien shocks to the rear and it drives better than any of my previous utes.

You asked what colour - Vixen red. my last two AU XR8 III & BA turbo were Blueprint but I think that colour has now past is "used by'

I bought mine through an employe discount program and I think you would find $39800 on road would be no where near dealer cost. I could have bought a brand new BA Mkii XR6T ute for $27300 plus on road.

Well, looks like I've found a good used one that will suit my needs, So I think that's the way I'll be going. 2004, Blueprint, Auto, Premium Brakes, 18's, Hardtop and spoiler, 14,000km. $31,000.... Onlt two things I don't like. The Spoiler on the hard top (Coming off asap) and the Auto may take some getting used to. Besides that, I'm happy.....

Well, It's done.... Picked it up Monday. Very happy... It had premium sound, which I was told it didn't have, and also had 5th 18" whell, which the dealer assured me it also didn't have... Before I picked it up, went to exhaust technology in the city to catch up with friend, and realised that KPM motorsport are right next door. Very helpful guys there....

Troughy, We gota catch up, theres a 3" exhaust to suit ute floating around mildura I hear, Have you heard anything? Sms or Pm me...
