Well I thought is was time to write my first post I hope it is in the correct section.

I have a mechanically stock BA XR6T auto with a K&N and CAPA edit, I have noticed quite different Dyno maps generated by my car to those posted by CAPA, with the same (Stage 1) modifications.

CAPA don’t seem quite help full to explain why. :spoton:

If you look at the enclosed graph you can see the stock line in red at 194.4KW

With the K&N added jumps a couple of KW across the whole range. Then above are the two CAPA maps (sent from CAPA)

The CAPA 8psi map has the same top KW as the stock map with the K&N but a whole lot more mid range.

The CAPA 10 PSI map gains 16 KW top end and more mid range.

The mid range is great, but falls away at the top end making the performance mode of the auto box useless as the car revs post it usable power curve. The car is actually faster in drive mode.

The question I ask is has any one else performed just the CAPA edit and filter, if so is this the standard result or are the maps incorrect.

When I turn the car on but do not start it , a clicking sound is heard. I am lead to think that this means the car is running in closed loop boost control but am a little unsure.

Do I need to add a new exhaust to keep the boost curve flat and gain more top end.

I hope some of you gurus can shed some light on this for a new comer to the xr6 turbo modification scene. :tease:

When did you buy your flasher? Those are very old programs (six months +) that have either been accidentally fitted to your box, or indeed your box is that old. Good news is all you need to to is send it back to CAPA for reloading of the latest programs.

I purchased the box last week

Contacted CAPA they sent 2 new maps to FIST by email

They too said the maps were old

The first was a 8 psi map which performed exactly the the same as the shown 8psi map on the dyno. (The so called old map by CAPA)

The second was a new 10psi map, this boosted pressures to 16 psi the dyno run was stopped as the AFR went crasy

lost faith in CAPA actually supplying the correct maps

fear of motor damage running questionable maps

The box was purchased new the dyno graph is the first set of maps sent with the box from CAPA

Did not print the second dyno session (maps sent by email) as the 8 psi was the same and the new 10psi was a no run as listed above

I am not sure what maps CAPA have sent you as they are not 'open' today. However, finally down the end of the path it will end up my responsibility to resolve this issue, hence my offer is to email FIST two excellent, known, working 8 and 10psi maps whenever you say the word.

Thanks guys

I am using FIST at the moment yes I agree they are great, Street Tuner if you have a good map please forward it to the guys at FIST as I will book in for a custom tune. Of course the better the base line to start with the less dyno time required
