These are only $600 NZ sold at Repco in NZ - and include the overhead console mount. The unit can unclip and be portable as well (though you need a powersource).I had a couple of questions of anyone who has mounted such items to their roof:1. How did you run power up - did you have to remove the entire headlining? How hard was this?2. How did you attach the mount - just small nuts and bolts to the headlining? - Does the headlining support the weight ok? (though these units are reasonably lite)3. Is that a good price for a player and 7 inch screen? Is that screen big enough for the backseat passengers?Any comments welcomed - good or bad. I have a 7" roof mounted screen and a player mounted under the front passenger seat. It was all very easy to install. When you pull the center light out you will see 2 roof beams that you can screw into (use short screws 10-12mm) I used self drill type to hold the mount for the screen. Running the wiring was easy, just remove the cream panel next to the parcel shelf on either side. You can pull the headlining down enough to push a wire up through. When I did mine I had to push through AV leads as well, so there is plenty of room.If I had to buy a unit now I would buy one with the DVD player included with the screen unit. See Ebay there are lots on there PM me if you want a link.I'll be doing it all again shortly see the post http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=20472 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/20547-overhead-dvd-player-and-screen/#findComment-302609 Share on other sites

I agree - the mounting is in place of the existing light (this unit comes with some as well), and the wiring should be able to slide through (and in this case only power).Sorry to see what happened to your car Deek - hopefully you get another all up and running soon.To be honest I have found some units at Dick Smiths that have two monitors to clip onto the back of the headrests, and a player with remote for less money. Will keep looking for a bit I think.
