Hi chaps

I was saying in another thread here I unfortunately had a low speed bump today and flattended the nose of the hood. This is the first at-fault I've ever had. Forunately minor and double as fortunate that I bumped the other car's rear mounted spare tyre (4WD) - so no damage whatsoever for them.

My insurer - GIO (Syd) gives me a protected no claim for life.

A friend said that the insurer may put my premium up. Is that right? Any experiences here?

The didn't pay whatsoever? Bloody marvelous. Yeah I see what you mean. A law unto themselves.

Well it could be worse. I could be insured with NRMA. Then they would take a pic of the damage, send it to the repairer. He could quote from the photo and then fix the photo with photoshop!

Oh. And the damage to my bonnet? It's a crease. Not unlike that in your avatar. :censored:

I have been told that this can happen. They put a levy of $x dollars to your premium for x years even though your rating stays the same. The other thing I have heard of is they increase your excess for x years and sometimes both.

I have not experienced these first hand this is just what I have been told by friends and family who have had these experiences

Name them!

Let's not let their 'we luve youse all' advertsing BS fool us.

Personaly, in this case I agree. The least you should have done is have several security guards with automatic weapons and RPG's watching the jetski 24/7. Really.

You can be guaranteed that they will increase your premium. The no claim bonus is just a discount applied after the premium is calculated.
