You normally get what you pay for. These Nankangs, Linglong, some of the Maxxis etc are generally cheap and nasty tyres. But they are cheap.

I just did about 20,000 km in 10 months on some Falken FK452's and they were very good for $295. They've gone up now to around $340. I'm looking at some Kumho KU19 245/35 x 19 at the moment and managed to score a ripper price on them. well under $300 for a 245/35x19. They are supposed to be very good, especially considering their price. I suppose I will find out.

I have tried ku19's.

they gripped very well but didn't last very long. think I got about 20k out of them, mostly driving to work. they wore very heavily in the middle with 38psi in them so beware of that. better suited to the front rather than the back imo.

Interesting. I was looking at a little extra grip for the rear and my tyre guy suggests they are a little softer than the Falken 452's even though they both have a 300 wear rating. If I get around 20k from them with 350rwkw, I'll be more than happy. My next choice was going to a 220 wear rating tyre which will wear even quicker and cost about 30% more.

I have 275 35 19s on the rear with 333rwkw, very happy with the grip although they ae 275s so most should grip with that size, wore out in under 10000ks, no burnouts on them either, just hard driving. gettin the Federals 595 to try them next time. see how they go.

I too bought them for the increased treadwear rating, but it didn't seem to matter. the dunlops lasted way longer, and I think the treadwear rating is similar.

I was just with stock power so you would be lucky to get 20k I'd imagine. also be sure to check for premature wear in the middle, as I was very surprised to see it! probably had 30% on the sides when I replaced them with the middle past the markers.

reasonable grip but.

I would aviod the federals, but that is my opinion.

I have them on the rear at the moment and wouldn't consider them again. once they are 50% worn they are a bad tyre. will turn in 3rd easily in my car in the wet (generic tune with long gears (~120kph)), and are a bit unpredictable.

my opinion only of course, im sure there are others who have had a better time with them.

So stock Dunlop 235's vs Nankang 255's

Winner = ?

Just need to settle the car down when boost comes on as the car get's unpredictable. Sometimes is chirps hard when boost comes on 50kmh+ (ive got the 4spd auto), other times above 50kmh it will get sideways and I've gotta back off :(
