On enquiry we were told it would be available as a demo model in several months. After about a month we went back to see if there was any way they could make it available earlier ........ within a week the car was being driven out of the car yard with all of the requested options/treatments complete and for a fantastic deal!! The XR6T experience was all too much and we decided we would change over the 4WD for a ute. Went back to the dealer on a Tuesday and did the deal. They looked up their info as to what was available ...... the car was at the dealer by Thursday (same week). Options and treatments were started the following week. Car was being driven out of the car yard Wednesday morning. That's about a week from the time the order was placed for a Silhoutte XR6T ute - and this car was not in the yard ...... it was an order and came from the factory.Tends to make one think .............. it definately all comes down to the dealer and their knowledge. How is it that one dealer can know where to find out the information and how to make things happen so quickly?? Consequently, we had looked at a ute at another dealer a few days before. He told us that unless we wanted one he had in his yard, we would be waiting months if we wanted to place an order for the colour we wanted.........??????? I feel for all of you that have had to wait months. I am not that patient! And I would most definately be hitting the dealer for some extras as compensation (screwing up with the transmission type is just plain unacceptable cdm) Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/1607-impossible-dream/page/2/#findComment-17022 Share on other sites

It would be interesting to know as it does seem that Ford may be showing some bias towards " their" dealers and some of the others are getting a raw deal. Has anybody else found this? The ute was the 4th car we had bought off them in 6 months and I guess they just knew how to treat their customers - no bull$hit and straight answers. He had a list of what was available at their lot, coud find out what was available at other dealers and what was coming off the line soon - surely all dealers would have access to this information??? Perhaps as soon as someone asks for a modification, it is easier to do the paperwork and put in an order than search around dealers and the factory?? I don't know - would be good to hear from a Ford salesperson who may be able to shed some more light on the topic???? I would love an answer - How can one dealer know off the top of his head what is and isn't available (and will cop a 3 month wait) yet another dealer can 'search around' and be able to get you that same car a few days later.....????? BUT IT'S IMPROVING!!!! Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/1607-impossible-dream/page/2/#findComment-17405 Share on other sites
