Posted 28/02/05 07:26 AM Share Posted 28/02/05 07:26 AM Well I have ordered my copy along with the 900 degree wheel. A local store is selling a package, wheel and game for $280. I think it is worth it. First thing I will be doing is getting a Typhoon and getting straight onto the 'Ring. Cannot wait!My advice to you is to hold out on buying the steering wheel for now. Wait a while and make your decision based apon what car enthusiast reviewers say. Say wheels and motor, or even a high profile driver (so long as they have no connections with the company selling the wheel). There are lots of wheels out there, and lots of them are crap. Very few deliver on peformance or ergonomics. But the few that do provide both don't just accomplish, they excel. I have read this wheel makes GT4 a completley different experience all in a good way, its build quality is excellent and ergonomics are spot on.Dazza. How many times have I read reviews that sh*t can something that I think works fine. It's a Logitech wheel and the previous Logitech wheel I had was great. Better to have a wheel than no wheel at all.. Just adds to the realism.Do you have a PS2 Lawsy? If you have you will know what I mean, a wheel of any kind is 100x better than the controller! The wheel is the way to go for GT4 Dazza. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/15950-got-my-gt4/page/4/#findComment-225739 Share on other sites

Around the time that that sim came out I tried a few other games and none of them had the feel that GPL has. It was like toys compared to a real car.How do the games such as GT3/4 compare to GPL? Has anyone played both that can give me an insight. Thanks,GPL is a fantastic game, especially the Spa track in belguim, woo hoo some huge rollovers to be had on that sucker. If you play both GPL and GT4 with a decent steering wheel, I am sure you will be happy with the driving physics in both games, probably more so GT4, but I doubt the thrill of racing in GT4 will be quite as exciting as in GPL, since GT4 only has 6 cars on track compared to the 25+ on GPL.Dazza.I bought GPL in about 1998 or so and still play it on a regular basis as it gives a real thrill. in that six or so years, the track I have predominantly raced at is ???? and I still haven't mastered it. I have won about three races and they have all been short races rather than the full lenght. You spend 20 minutes driving and you are completely drained it is so stressful. There are two things that really impress me about GPL, the technical correctness of the circuits, even down to the correct camber in the corners that are on camber as you enter and off camber at the apex. .... and then the awesome sound of the Ferarri as you pass it on the track. The year GPL is set in might be 1969 however, the cars are magic, the tyres are hard, there is no aero on the cars and the engines are powerful. Can't ask for much better than that.If GT4 is half as good, I think I will invest in a copy. I would like to try it before I buy it though as I have had previous bad experiances with wheels. One guy said he has never used a wheel he liked until this one. Said wheel wait is awesome, great feedback with the rumble/shock etc...Just curious as to what the wheel will cost there. Cheapest price seen here is US$109 but most places have it for $150 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/15950-got-my-gt4/page/4/#findComment-225808 Share on other sites

If you have you will know what I mean, a wheel of any kind is 100x better than the controller!Yeah I know, when I had the ps2 here, the wheel is just awesome fun. But in no way to I agree that any wheel is better than no wheel at all.... There is some serious crap out there that ruin the experience, that are so unrealistic, so hopelessly calibrated that its like using the digital buttons on a megadrive compared to real life. That is how bad some of the wheels out there are, and because they are cheap, people buy them.If this wheel is the one designed for GT4, then ok, go for it. Most likely, it will kick royal arse. My original post was based on the assumption that EB, being its usual dodgy self, were just slapping there worst selling wheel on what they are assured to be there best selling game. They have done this before so....Just wish I still had the ps2 here.... Bugger!PS, from flying model aircraft, I'm pretty damn good with the controller anyway Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/15950-got-my-gt4/page/4/#findComment-225852 Share on other sites
