They should ahve brought back the full race car conversion bodykits from GT2, let me know about the fuel, this will be my deciding factor in buying this title over forza motorsport on xbox.

I won't be getting this game. the fact there is no car damage takes away from its appeal. Not to mention the playstation is not the best consol out there either. Xbox is much better.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

 here we go, just liked every other GT topic... The good old no car damage comments etc etc :w00t2:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Im just saying I cant look past the no damage thing. Every car game that doesnt feature car damage totally takes away from the experience that's all. If this game is meant to be so realistic where the F is the damage.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Why the F do you keep repeating yourself everytime a GT topic is posted. Stop hijacking threads with you problems and stick to posting in the other ones you already screwed up!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Are you for real. get over it man! I was just saying what I thought about part of the game so how is this hijacking!! I didn't go off topic did I???

Im sorry not everyone has the same opinion as you.

I had a big post here but then realised all I need to say is this.

If you are that crap that you can't complete a single race without riding another car or hitting a wall, go play mario karts.

That basically sums it up, the rest was simply on the fact that GT uses SO non linear differential equations for each wheel and its damper system, that GT takes into account the possition (also height) and weight of the engine, the center of gravity for each car, various friction constants and many many other factors.

It isn't an engine based on triggers, it is is a real time physics engine. GT is about the only car game with a non trigger based physics engine.

Trigger being, something happens, the game simply reacts in a pre determined way, rather than calculating what actually happened.

that's about a quarter of what I had typed up.

I think the driver AI is triggered, they race the same lines, brake at the same points lap after lap, they will even run into you if your in there way going slower, I was hoping this wouldnt be the case with GT4, but it was definaltey the case with GT4 prologue, the driving was a massive improvement, but the raceing was still as dull as ever, lets hope the finished version has addressed some of these issues or its going to dissapoint the diehard GT fans. That being said I have read some very glowing reviews on it so far.

I have made a few cars run wide into the dirt, come down the straight get on inside of them into the turn and they are just carrying too much speed for the new line I made them take and into the dirt they go :) They do brake late sometimes, well something happens as when you are really putting pressure on them around the track occationally they will brake late and lose some speed and drop a couple of wheels off the track...

I have only ever played PC based sims and the one that still does if for me is Grand Prix Legends. Around the time that that sim came out I tried a few other games and none of them had the feel that GPL has. It was like toys compared to a real car.

How do the games such as GT3/4 compare to GPL? Has anyone played both that can give me an insight.

Thanks,

GPL is a fantastic game, especially the Spa track in belguim, woo hoo some huge rollovers to be had on that sucker.

If you play both GPL and GT4 with a decent steering wheel, I am sure you will be happy with the driving physics in both games, probably more so GT4, but I doubt the thrill of racing in GT4 will be quite as exciting as in GPL, since GT4 only has 6 cars on track compared to the 25+ on GPL.

But ona PC, you have a processor that can do 30 times more calculations for physics, computer AI etc than in a PS2. So not only would you get better AI and physics in a pc based game, but you would get this with 30 cars on the track.....

I would love to see someone do a proper port of GT4 to the PC. Get a nice big, high resolution projector, run 12 cars on the track with even better physics and graphics, with a nice racing wheel....

That would be quite fun.

Well I have ordered my copy along with the 900 degree wheel. A local store is selling a package, wheel and game for $280. I think it is worth it. First thing I will be doing is getting a Typhoon and getting straight onto the 'Ring. Cannot wait!
