December 12, 200421 yr #1 Hi Guys,I thought you might be interested in a dyno graph of a standard Typhoon. Please see http://www.aps-xr6t.com/falcon/typhoon/typhoon.htm for the initial information. The numbers are pretty much spot on for a tight engine and I expect the car to pick up some more outright power as the engine and drive train beds in. We will have some very exciting news to come regarding sensational improvements in engine performance for the Typhoon....very soon.George
December 13, 200421 yr #2 Very dissapointing considering my old AUTO XRT picked up 197.5 in shoot 6 mode, then 196.3 in shoot 6 mode on a different dyno 6 months later....I've seen manual XRT's range from 199 - 215 on different dyno's.As I said, very dissapointing...

They both have Dyno Dynamics with the same software as eachother at the times I was there.Obviously I haven't seen as many as you, but the ones I have seen indicate that the Typhoon's rwkw are a bit dissapointing.I've seen auto's that have been babied run 175 - 185 rwkw, manuals that have been babied, 190 - 200rwkw.Then the ones that have been run in for performance, auto's from 190 - 200, manuals from 200 - 215.I've never seen a manual run 180rwkw, and if it was mine I would be asking Ford what is going on.Just going from dyno graphs that I have seen, it seems that there is a fair bit of driveline loss from the T56/AP Clutch.I would of expected the Typhoon to get anywhere from 220 - 230rwkw from a babied Typhoon, to 230 - 245rwkw from a performance type run in procedure. This is going off the figures I mentioned above:XR6T = 240 fwkwManuals getting 190 - 215rwkw50 - 25kw drive line loss.Typhoon = 270 fwkwManual gets 200rwkw70kw drive line loss.
December 13, 200421 yr #5 Peter, you dyno figures are lower it seems than what is claimed at other places. Doesn't matter much as long as consistency is achieved and the figures you give for various models seems to indicate that you are consistent.Ivan, your calcs are way too high mate. I think I've already posted somewhere that I'd expect something in the order of 215kw at the rears for the Typhoon. That's about all you'll get I don't care how you run it in
December 13, 200421 yr #6 Whats the point of getting a typhoon if you can get 215 rwkw with an XRT...Torque aside that is...
December 13, 200421 yr #7 Author I've never seen a manual run 180rwkw, and if it was mine I would be asking Ford what is going on.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Cro if you don't tie the XR6T down correctly onto the dyno you can very easily see a 15 to 20 RWkW FALSE figure.I can take an XR6T and dyno the car tied down corrctly and measure 18O RWkW's and then simply loosen off the tie down straps and measure 195 RWkW's................I know which is the REAL power figure.....................see what I mean.PeterAPS

December 13, 200421 yr #9 Whats the point of getting a typhoon if you can get 215 rwkw with an XRT...Torque aside that is...It was a good hype but now that we have seen what this car can do, there is no point! IMOI still recon an XR6T with a APS Phase 2 kit is the ultimate combo if you want something with some mambo!
