It could quite easily be modded to be vacuum operated like the old Ram Air system on '60's Fords or Air Grabbers on Dodge/Plymouth's. I agree wih Plonky, I don't think its rice, (far from it) it just looks a bit too "tall" sitting on top of the bulge............By no means ugly!
