09/06/04 07:00 AM09/06/04 07:00 AM #12 Sorry Peter, Unigroup was right on the nail.We were under the impression that you had prescribed a series of activities/modifications for auto transmission which were 'blessed' by APS as being appropriate to set the box up to absorb the additional torque of a post Stage 2 APS mod. We leave the auto mods up to each installing dealer to organise, you see each dealer in Sydney for example has their preferred auto trans specialist, it's not possible or practical to advise other auto shops how to perform a trans upgrade on the XR6T. I don't know why you thought that APS has a prescribed series of mods that we supply to auto shops or APS dealers, this is cetainly not the case. Most of the experienced APS dealers across Australia do have an auto shop/specialist to assist APS customers who wish to upgrade their auto trans. RegardsPeter
10/06/04 12:45 AM10/06/04 12:45 AM #13 Thanks Peter - now understood. Issue only arose as APS recommended that the transmission be upgraded at or beyond Stage 1, the assumption was then made that as with issues with recommended exhaust and valve spring changes, APS had a transmission 'package' in mind.So if I am down in Melbourne later this year will you be able to 'organise' transmission mods (in addition to already fitted cooler) as well as injector mod?Probably best then pursued via PM so as not to hijack this thread. Dingah

21/06/04 01:10 AM21/06/04 01:10 AM #17 I have APS stage II and the APS auto mod. The mod went in after5 the trans started to slip TOOOOO late. It blew up LINK AutoHad it reconed see above link. Still have the APS mods exactly as they were.I’m still having troubles with 2-3 slipping. It not the shop that did the work as they did the development of this trans with the orbital engine company for the Zircon project [Territory]No not one burnout!!!!!!!!!!!I’m at the moment investigating the Nizpro option. They say its good for 800nm. Who knows? As far as I and all the trans shops I’ve spoken to [including Northmead autos] There are NO heavy-duty parts. Sorry 1 band and if ya trannys serial # ends in a 27 you have it.So how do they make this auto with planetary gears that fail at 630 nm hold 800? Got me shagged.Seems like a lot of smoke and mirrors around the auto.Would greatly appreciate any real knowledge on this subject.

With a 114.75 MPH your T will go low 12's (maybe high 11's) if you can improve on the 60 foot time. Maybe time to consider a high stall trans converter. Catch up with you soon. PeterAPS

PeterAPS hi peter might be a option but I think I need to sort out my driving technique first as I think it needs a bit of work.
