My T is nearly here!

I got a VERY welcome phone call from my dealer this afternoon and he told me that my T was at the "wholesale" stage (which he then translated to mean the car was completely finished and awaiting pickup at the factory in Melbourne)

He then went on to tell me that he'll ring the dealer manager in the morning to pull some strings and call in some favours and hopefully get the car ready for me by the end of the month!!! Yay!

I don't like his chances though, somehow I don't think the car will get from Melbourne to Newcastle by Monday let alone the time it will take to install the couple of dealer options and detail the car. I can dream though :D

I was so damned excited, I just had to tell somebody!!! haha

Congrats Dsan. It won't be to long to wait now. Good to hear they are still making the XR's. I thought that maybe they had diverted the entire Ford production line over to making Territories. Hope you enjoy the new ride.

By the way how long have you waited now since placing the order.

I think I ordered the T on the 9th of April so I guess I'm looking at about 8 weeks waiting time. I'm pretty happy with that after reading some of the storys on this site

DSAN, I know how you feel! Monday I got told my car left Melb. on a truck to Brisbane and I should be in it by Saturday!

Its knowing it is almost here that is killing me! The dealer is about 40 mins drive from where I live / work and I have driven past at least twice a day since Tuesday. (Usually takes three days from Melb I am told, and they think it left Sun)

From memory I ordered mine on the 6th April with nearly exactly the same options, no doubt our cars met while getting built!

as I am writing this I feel the need to drive past again!

I am suprised the dealer hasn't taken out a restraining order against me

I drive past my dealership every day, twice, when I go to and from work. And every day I starin my head to look inside the garage to see a black ute being finished off. And soon I hope to see the very same ute just sitting in the lot waiting for me to pick it up.

Wow, is it really only 3 days to transport a T from Melbourne to Brisbane? I thought there was no way my car could get from Melbourne to Sydney before Monday but I guess it actually is possible. WOO HOO!!!

Alright, it's confirmed. My T is now finished and ready to pick up tomorrow morning but I can't get get bloody time off work! I've booked in an RDO on Wednesday so I'll have to whole day to get to know my baby so I'll just have to hold out till then.

It certainly is true that the last day is the hardest!

You mean you don't get sick days? I'd definatley be coming down with a bad case of Ineedtopickmecarupitis. If you need I have a pad of hospital sick leave slips

Don't pick it up till Wednesday, that's when mine will be ready, fingers crossed. I don't want ANOTHER person getting theirs first.

I think my boss might put it together when I call in "sick" and then turn up the next day in a Mandarin XR6T :lol:

Nah, I'll wait until Wednesday and take it easy during the final stages of the deal so I don't get conned into anything (like the bloody "full care package"). I'll get the whole day to cruise around counting how many heads I can turn
