4 work & play

Well Good news! I managed to get the valet tune to load in first thing this morning. I drove around the block to be sure that it was at least driveable (under 3000rpm of course) I then called Jeff at C & V and we stepped through loading the factory tune back in, which it did fine. I'm not sure why it has started working now. When I was trying to load a program in before it would just be stuck on the two LEDS 00 00 pattern (22 Code), but now it seems to be going through the whole senario and downloading the tunes. However I still have a problem downloading the 8 PSI tune, which wont go past the 22 code, so I'll send the box back to C & V for them to look at it. So good news, thank you all for your help it is much appreciated. And now that I have it running properly on the 10 PSI tune....................how good is it! The mod bug has already got me (which I knew would) and I want more So looks like I'll be collecting a few goodies in the next couple of months before getting a custom tune Cheers Sean

Ahh, ok. Hmmmmmmmm, perhaps a new flash box may resolve my problem, however I do have reservations that its going to be as simple as that! Jeff has indicated that the box may be faulty, I dont care what tune I get into the car as long as I can drive it, I will go and get a custom tune!

Hi guys, I followed the instructions which were given with the flasher. The first tune took about 5 minutes, once the lights stopped flahing I left it be for probably 20 - 30 seconds and then turned the ignition off and pulled the connection. the car started and ran fine. I guess the stock tune went into the flasher, but if the box is faulty, then perhaps something has gone wrong with storing the info??????????????????? All I can say is that I read the instructions about 5 times before I did it and had the instructions in front of me when I flashed the car. It worked twice, then sh%t hit the fan. I spoke to Jeff from C & V today and he haden't heard of such an incident before, where no tune could be loaded and the car couldnt be started or driven. I will be calling him again soon when I am in the car just to go thru everything and he seems very helpful, so hopefully we can work it out. I appreciate all the suggestions and info guys, I will keep you posted on what the result ends up being. I just hope that it ends up being an easy solution. Just quickly, doesent the word - CODE on the stereo just mean that a pass word needs to be input for the stereo to work again????? Surely not that the whole computer needs reprogramming like what blueprintxr6t is suggesting? Can you shed more light blueprintxr6t, did your prob occur from retuning, or what was the cause? that's not cool. I was hoping that it wouldnt be something like this I guess this was a costly exercise? If this is what has happened, the big question I have is WHY? I will call C & V this morning and go from there. Cheers Sean

Yeah I disconnected the negative and left it for about 2 minutes or so, it was getting dark and I thought it would be better to just get the car home and then muck around with it. It obviously didnt do anything, but I will try again tomorrow. The stereo now comes up with the word CODE though, so it at least reset that! Cheers Sean

Yeah, guess it sounds similar to that. I had a quick browse through and found a couple of other incidents which sound the same, but at least the factory tune could be reloaded, whereas I cant even do that. I read in another post that it could be the processor codes are wrong???? I dont want to have to buy another box just to beable to drive my car if I can help it. Another question I have is, does there need to be a program in the ecu already, for the flasher to work, because as far as I can tell, the problem is obviously that there is no longer a program in the ecu at all. I'm gonna hit the hay now, any info would be greatly appreciated. I'll be doing the ring around tomorrow. Cheers Sean

Hey guys, Nah its not an auto, its manual. I went back down in the work van and towed it back home. I have tried a few more times but still no good, as soon as I turn the ignition to on, the error code pops up. Surely this has happened to someone else? I'm guessing it won't start at all now because it has no program loaded up and it won't allow me to load one up. Anyways, its not the daily driver, I have three other cars I can use so I guess I'll be looking further into it tomorrow. This is not the post I was expecting to be writing about the flasher, it was supposed to be more like................................I flashed my car today and its sooooo goood! Oh well. Car ignition will turn on, but the car won't turn over??????????? Justwent back down the road and tried again, but its a no go, will try the battery trick, otherwise it will be towed home and will worry about it later. Thanks for your help. Cheers Sean

Yeah that's exactly how it was done! that's why I cant work out why it wont load up now. I tried the sequence probably 5 or 6 times again but it kept coming up with the error code. Its not complicated I know, and I feel like a goose coming on here with this problem, but it has happened and now I need to to know why this is happening and how it can be remedied. So frustrating.

Thanks for the quick reply. By reds I'm assuming you mean the red lights on the dash, if so, yeah that's the order I did it in. It worked twice, car was running sweet, just when I went to tune the third time it packed up???????

hi guys, We'll I got my tuner today, plugged it into the car loaded the 10 psi tune, turned car on all sweet........went for a drive down the road..........sweet...........thought hmmmmm, wonder what the 8psi tune is like, so pulled over went bthrough the load sequence again (although I did notice that the factory LED wasnt lighting up as an option), so anyway car started up again sweet went for a drive again, then thought nah the 10psi is the GO. So went through the sequence again only this time at the end it started flashing error code 22 - Invalid calibration. Ok, tried again.............same thing, and of course now the car wont start at all. Now my car is stranded on the side of the road. What is wrong.......and how can I fix it???????????????

Well I have made payment for the flash tuner, its now the beginning of.................................well you all know whats going to happen! Let the mod addiction begin!

Cheers guys, Yer I'm in vicco, will prob get the flash from C & V but will have to find a local tuner to dyno properly, but will wait till I collect a few more goodies. On that note, is it better to get the flash box from the same tuner that I will be using, because obviously they all put their own generic tunes in, or does it not matter. I'm also fortunate, I know a head mechanic at a ford dealership who is willing to keep my warranty as long as I don't go too stupid on mods, so I will probably do a few small things to start with until my warranty runs out and then.........................I know the addiction will get me! Hi guys, been floating around for some time now, here and ford forums, so thought I should say hi! so Hi! I currently own a 2005 XR6T 6 speed ute, which used to be my workhorse, but is now my "quoting" and "pick up of deliveries" vehicle. No mods as of yet, hopefully C & V recieved my Pm for a flash, which will get me started. Here's an old pic, I now have some 20" black dished lenso's but other than that its the same. I will pulling off the canopy, and drawers soon and selling them..............(if anyones interested???) Not sure how far I will go with mods yet, will def get it slammed as low as I can, maybe try and get close to the 300kw mark but will see how goes. Anyways, look forward to making a few more posts, and contirbuting to this great little community. Cheers Sean
