I'm just trying to find out something. Are surge tanks on a fg xr6 turbo a legal or an illegal mod??

I have found a hoint here in Melbourne called procharge. They will machine my core and change the compressor wheel to a gtx 3582 change the front housing to a 3582 housing too so the 4 inch intake and 2.5 inch outlet and have the turbo all ready for me for $1100 if I bring the turbo in. I dont think I can go wrong for that price

Gtx 3582 is my dream turbo how much do u recon it will cost to put it on to my car and tune it at a tuners?

that's what I thought Mattyp. I cant find 11 blade wheels that are genuine garrett. I found some on ebay that are balanced like a mamba and a kinugara do u think these co.pressor wheels will b alright and if I wanted to get the gtx housing do u think I have to use garrett or will a different front housing do with the same specs?

Ok that is exactly what I was thinking of doing. So do u need to get the core balanced after u change the compressor wheel?

Thanks heaps guys. I am only going 25 minutes away but now im thinking of putting a gtx 3582 so I think I will definitely need to get that done at the tuners. Im getting it tuned at blue power camblefield. Do u guys think its worth putting a gtx 3582 in or just put a 3540 in?

Hi I have a fg xr6 turbo I have got it tuned, a high flow cat, a 1000 hp plazmaman cooler and got rid of the crossover and put the air intake where the battery is. Now I need to change the turbo to get more power. I have brought a 3540 and was wondering if I can change the turbo myself and drive it to the tuners or do I have to get them to do it cause im changing the turbo. Cause its the same housing as mine as in inlet and outlet I thought I might b able to get away with it.
