  1. im sure the F6 would have benefited from slicks, as you can really hear the stockys screetching around every corner ... but at the same time, so would the bike.... brouggy's runs 1:42's on his 675 which has revalved suspension and race slicks... would have race glass and all non essential bits removed too, few kg saved there... not sure if it would have any intake/exhaust mods, though it wouldnt be a day and night difference if it did
  2. the amature in the F6 pulled ~1:59 then knocked a second off that with bowe's advice ... amature on the triumph pulled ~1:56 then knocked a second off with brouggys advice the moral of the story - theres a lot more difference between an amature rider and a pro rider than there is between an amature driver and pro driver
  3. well the arse bandits didnt replay it on saturday arvo! whole eppisode was the dutton rally... and at least we know what a bog stock A6 phoon is capable of around PI in a professional drivers hands
  4. if you have never ridden before, then a RS250, RGV250, TZR250, or derestricted NSR250 are all bad bikes to learn on... not very user friendly and terrible for commuting... it would be good if victoria adopted the LAMS scheme which goes by power to weight not just a flat 260cc limit... which means the 2 stroke sports bikes are no longer learner legal, but 600cc dirt bikes and most 500cc twins are legal... so is the RVF400 afaik, but they go for rediculous prices... a nice motard would be fairly forgiving though, and loads of fun... but not a 250cc single personally I think a pre 2000 cbr600 or yamaha thundercat is an ideal bike to learn on if you have a few years of roadcraft up your sleeve and are not too ham fisted people say you learn more on 250's, but I learnt more in the first month on my 750 than I did in the 12 months on my 250... and I learnt even more on my 900 in the first ~5 weeks
  5. well... the results are in, I was supprised to see the phoon run a sub 2 minute lap even with the amature driver! it'll be on again on saturday arvo
  6. mmmm.... 250's suck ass
  7. brouggy posts on cbr250.com and says he was fine, back on another bike within 15 minutes he wouldnt disclose any results from the day though (obviously) does anybody know what kind of times a 6T/phoon would be capable of running around phillip island or eastern creek? stock or modded, amature or pro
  8. stolen from another forum.... hmmm... how do ya'll think that will come out?

hardly "serious" work required to get a VL to xr6t levels +1 vote for edit
  11. Very true. though watching NHRA drags on ESPN and seeing the huge ammounts of prize money on offer for what seems like amature drag racing (by US standards) would explain a lot of the progress they make... only people like victor bray can quit their day job in aussie drag racing

"copperhead" and "orion" are the codewords for the upcomming update, and the all new model... not sure what order. at least that's what I found out when I was snooping around head office in broady... if only I was allowed to pick up some of those manila folders and thumb through them was supprised to see an awful lotta pamphlets and marketing info on holdens and toyotas littered about the place. I guess you gotta know your competition well. my "insider" working in plant 2 cant tell me a great deal either, the plebs arnt very well informed. how ever, I might have some work comming up in their R&D building soon, but afaik several confidentiality forms haved to be signed to get in
  13. now how are they going to compensate you for all the TLGP losses you incurred in this time?
