  1. Thanks for the information ZAP fingers crossed I can find a good repairer - recommendations for Melbourne? I took it to a local panel beater and he has already said the chassis is damaged and it'll need to be cold pulled straight? So not entirely cosmetic - hopfully still ok?
  2. andrewd sorry to hear your story. This is what I'm quite worried about as I've looked after the car very well. I'd rather see it sent to the scrap heap than continually worry about all of the extra problems and potentially bad workmanship that could ruin the car. Even having doors that don't align properly will make me want to palm it off pretty quickly. No it wasn't my fault - I was hit in much the same way as andrewd. We were in traffic and we all had to break suddenly, however the kicker is we were stationary for a good 5 seconds before I was rear ended. The woman who hit me clearly wasn't paying attention. At what point does a car become less safe to drive? If they pull this back into shape does the chassis become weakened? If I'm hit at that point again will my rear passengers be pulling shrapnel from their arses?
  3. Sorry I should have mentioned it's a 2009 FG XR6 N/A. :( Some pictures attached - the the gap difference on both doors really is quite big. :S
  4. Hey all, first post here! :D I was just rear ended and it isn't pretty. The Chassis has been bent and the gap between the door and the left quarter panel is small - and the gap between the right quarter panel and door is quite large. Do I now have a rubbish car on my hands that can never really be repaired or is this not too big of a problem? Do you think it will be written off? I personally hope they can repair it but don't want some shoddy weakened body that isn't straight which causes bearings and tyres to wear early. Thoughts, comments appreciated? Love my Ford. :(
