hello. wondering if anyone can help me? I just bought an xr8. I know this isnt the place for it but I needed some advice. im having problems with my temperature and idle. say I take my car for a drive, warm it up as usual ect. if I pull over and turm my car off for say 1 or 2 or more mins, then turn my car back on, my temp gauge will be right back down to cold and my idle goes crazy warming up again. then after say 20 secs or something my temp will go to normal and the car goes normal again. theres a problem somewhere that my temp reading isnt right.. can anyone help?? thanks heaps

Ok this is sounding some what promising... Iv tried every avenue and noone has heard of this issue before... So you rekon the cam timing case or something?? I'm all for the info cause even when my engine light comes on it isn't relaying the message... Hows this cam timer work and how do you adjust??

I was leaning towards o2 sensor,'but the dyno showed it all working ok!!! What a head ache!! I'm located arncliff, NSW

Ok so here goes the novel.. I got a 03ba xr6t. It's a 5 speed manual. Say when I'm driving along, I come to pull up to set of lights or stop sign, il slip the gear into neutral, THENN my idle without me doin anything, rev itself out to about 2 grand, the engin light comes on and the the whole motor gets thrown into a misfire.. The other problem is my computer is t relaying the message of what's wrong..'iv had the car on the dyno and it showed no problems.'did a vac leak test and compression test and all is ok.. I can't figure out the problem and it's killing me!! Also my fuel consumption is crap too at 19.1L per 100.... To add, I had my throttle body changed to brand new initially cause of this.. Please!! Any information on solutions to this!! Thanks

Had the throttle body changed initially when the prob started happening.. Went away for a while and now came back... It's making me wanna sell it

hey eveyone Got a XR6T, 5 speed man 03 BA. iv noticed that when im taking the car out after givin it a good warm up and run.. when sitting an idling, at the exhaust you can feel and hear a popping noise like a misfire. now the cars just hit 83000 so I got my plugs changed and coils done... it was happeneing before I changed it and still now.. any ideas on what the prob could be??? also intermitenly.. when I put my foot down, sometimes the car dont take off like it should.. lags like anything and I gotta get off the throttle to kinda bring it back before putting my foot down again.. any ideas on this at all??? all help appreciated

yeah its like that exactly.. insted of just picking up and taking off in the gear, it just slips and revs out... you dont know of any adjustments or anything??

hey all I own a 03 BA XR6 turbo, 5 speed manual, just clocked over 82000Ks. Recent times when diving iv noticed my clutch is grabbing right at the top of the pedal insted of downnear the floor. Also iv noticed that say im cruising in 3rd or 4th and I put my foot down to speed up, the car will rev out and not find the gear properly insted of just picking up speed.. like my clutch is slipping.. can anyone help with this?? is there any way to adjust the clutch?? is it normal after 82000ks for a clutch replacement?? all help is appreciated!!

Hey all 03 BA XR6T 5 speed. wondering if anyone can help... noticably when im drinving, can be any gear, if I back off the throttle and push back on it, I get a noise from around the diff area. its a clunking noise and iv only noticed when I back off and give it again. any ideas of what it is and if its a prob, how its fixed. thanks

HEY ALL just new to this site. I own an 03 BA XR6 turbo. 5 speed manual. just clocked over 77 on the OD Sometimes when im driving, I get a small whistle noise from my motor or somewhere. not giving it to the car, but just driving normally. it comes and goes and sometimes its louder then other times. does anyone know anything bout it. ifs it a problem? or can give any tips on how to fix. thanks
