Hi, I have just had the same thing with my FGX ute, alternator failed due to power steering leaking into it....bad design there Ford! Bought a new "genuine" alternator from eBay Bay Ford Parts. The rear mount was not threaded. Respose from them when I complained "We have sold 715 of these without an issue. This material is designed to have a self forming thread once fitted to vehicle".
I would love to see the factory screw make its own thread into that hole without wrecking it. Anyway I had the hole tapped with the 8 x 1.25mm thread. Seems odd to me that was the way to manufacture something "genuine"
