probably a dumb question, is the oil filter above or below the oil level, as in will any come out if I take it off? needa install "sandwich plate" for guages. cbf to change the oil thanks

called up repco and the guy said they are no longer available... crap ill look into the tee pieces. does anyone know what sizes they are? or what size is the bore in the engine side of the factory unit. thanks Ed

hi, just in the middle of installing some guages, boost oil temp and oil pressure. in the pp auto manual it details a "sandwich plate" for installing oil temp and pressure sender units. any ideas where I can get one in sydney? preferable northern beaches? ide be stoked if I could install the guages this weekend. any other ideas on how I can put in both oil temp and pressure? part nos would be sensational. hopefully I can rock up to repco and grab on (fingers crossed) its a mk2 ba auto. whats the deal with the turbosmart eboost 2. for some reason I thought xr6t's didnt like boost controllers. what kinda other things do you need to install to run one? Ed

hey mate, I had a similar problem last week. unfortunately you need to take the whole centre console out. the auto shifter unit sits under it all and you cant just get the cover off. having someone sitting in the passenger seat and yourself in the driver seat makes it lots easier. good luck.

yeh im past this stage. I have the surround and cup holders out that was easy. the silver thing doesnt just pop up after this. theres more plastic that needs to come off unfortunately. il keep trying.. Ed

ok, now im trying to pull the silver gearselector surround out of my MKII BA cause the silver stuff has got bubbles in it (btw does anyone have a new one for an auto?) anyways HOW HARD IS IT!!!!!!! I was wondering if anyone could let me know the secret? its looking like im going to have to take the whole centre bit out. im getting pretty close to taking it all out I just cant figure out how to get the rest of it out... any ideas? hey mate you do know that all the stuff your talking about is also illigal with p plate laws? turbos are illigal but so are engine mods.... even exhaust counts as an engine modification (intake/outlet mods) go all out or just wait. Ed
