  4. Well done Pym I too have a little one on the way (my first) after a false start earlier this year. Don't know if I will be able to bring myself to letting the little tacker ride in the T though - at least not until it is over its spewing stage. I have been in a number of cars that have been baby carriers and some of them That's why I bought the missus a new car - Expensive Daewoo Astra Congrats Lustin

    She's Back

Thanks fellas (and ladies). Mondie, Gosnells is a Perth outer suburb (about 40 mins from city) and about an hour from where it was taken from. Like most cities there are certain areas where housing is cheaper and it tends to attract those who perhaps aren't quite as fortunate, or do not want to do anything in particular with their life - cept steal other people's s@#t. Not havin a go at anyone from Gosnells, just making a general observation. It could of been a number of Perth suburbs. Car was found in an apartment block with 3 other stolen cars - busy boy!!! Gave her a good wash and polish yesterday.....it's almost like she never left :D Cheers Lustin

    She's Back

She's Back!!!!!!! Two weeks after disappearing I get a call late Friday nite saying they have found the car - in Gosnells. One hour later, stomach in knots, I find the car and........she's untouched. Looks like it was just driven and parked for the last two weeks. Half a tank of gas, no major damage (a few little scrapes) with most of my stuff still in it!! Couldn't believe it . Even got my wedding ring. The only things taken were wallet, briefcase, sunnies, mobile and owners manual (bizarre). Obviously may need to get a new ignition system as someone has my keys, but hey, that is a small inconvenience. Off now to give her a good clean (was parked under a bird infested tree) and treat her to a bit of lovin' Thanks for everyone's good vibes and sorry Silverhawk, your HgAg was looking an option there for a while. I am so excited, it is almost like when I picked her up. I can't think of a better outcome. Lustin

    She's Gone

Been almost a week now and no sign of the T :tears: Insurance investigation seemed to go well - will know more next week. Assessor indicated if I had left the keys in/on the car it might have been a different story (lesson to be learned there as sometimes I had 'hidden' the keys underneath the car). Asked him what the solution was and he didn't know. He said another guy had his car stolen the week before (not a XR6T) and he had taken his keys with him on the beach and kept them in a towel - same outcome. What I wanted to ask the forum members, as I can't test it myself now is whether you can lock/deadbolt the car with the metal key only. I am just thinking that if I can leave my keys in the car and take out the ignition key only into the surf (in a wetsuit pocket) then it may help solve the problem (though I realise the car is not immobolised). Obviously some lowlife can still smash the window, crawl in, locate the keys and drive off - but that is a hell of a lot more effort/noise (esp. with an alarm) than simply opening the car with the keys and driving off. I had a similar system with my Vx Commie and it seemed to work well. Also looking at getting paid out and am deciding on options - a new T with a 3-6 mth wait or a secondhand XR6T or XR8 with roughly 10-20k on the clock that is available now. Any thoughts. Lustin

    She's Gone

Thanks for the vibes guys. Been two days now and no contact from anyone. Makes you kinda wonder whether you want her back or not Insurance co. wants to do an investigation (fair enough) but god knows how long they will take before they decide they will order me another or whatever they do (1st car I have had stolen). Hope they don't give me too much grief about leaving my keys in my friends ute - not much else you can do when you go out in the water though! Don't reckon even wrapping them up in a towel and taking them with me would have saved it anyway. Looks like some sort of a stake out (I go surfing everyday, same time, same place). Everything else lost is just a bummer (phone, wallet, briefcase, wetsuits, toilet (long story), jackhammer, sunnies and more) but my wedding ring I bought in Greece last year is taking some explaining with the wife :nugget: Nah, not really, she just wants the car back too. Have managed to borrow a car (Commodore) but I am thankful. Thanks again guys. Will keep you informed.

    She's Gone

I've been lurking these forums for almost 10 months now. Kept up on all the gossip, introduced the easy mods to my beast (footwell lights, boot lid liner etc), seen new members come and go (mostly thanks to Ken) but never felt compelled to post....until now. Who else but you guys (and gals) could understand my pain at arriving back to the carpark to find my beloved hgag gone. Ordered Dec 02, delivered Feb 03, mercury, premium, 17's, 7800k's on the clock and untouched - not even spoiler damage at the front from high gutters or a car door dent - she was beautiful. Went for a surf last nite. Put my keys in my mates black S ute, came back after 45mins, one broken into ute, no keys (for either car!!) but the turbs was gone (a wise choice). My heart sank. I lost heaps of other stuff too as I had gone straight from work. All nite I kept getting knots in my stomach as I thought about what might be happening to my baby at that very minute. It was horrible. I am even more horrified at the waiting list if I have to wait for a new one!! So if any Perth guys see a Hgag with BR23WA plates then make sure you report it to the cops (who have been pretty good by the way - infact one just happened to be driving past as I arrived at the empty space dripping wet).
