I had a run with two mates. One owns a 300kw VT SS, the other owns a standard BA XR8, both manuals. My 300kw XR8 was beaten by a car length by the VT & line ball with the std XR8. Not too happy about the std XR being even, but not too shabby for two BA's keeping up with a worked VT with a 200kg advantadge !!
  2. Thanks for the replies. I still think it should be the dealers responsibility to deliver a new vehicle without the rust ! I mentioned it to them at the 3k service, but I was sort of brushed off. "Don't worry mate, that's nothing"
  3. G'day, Just wondering if any of you guys got delivered a new car with the front suspension components (ie wishbones) coming with free corrosion ? :banghead: All correspondence greatly appreciated.
  4. Plus Herrods Exhaust. Hello 300 + kw !!!!

I use a SONAX chamois with great results. As I own a silhouette XR, the finish provided is very acceptable. Price from memory is about $30 from Autobarn.
  6. Howzit Igsta ? You'll find the most accurate reading would probably be from the inlet manifold. It works as I had a boost gauge plumbed from there in my Mitsu GSR. Hope it helps.

Hi Squinlan, If you're in Sydney check out the boys at Bridgestone Tyre Centre, Smithfield. They have supplied and lowered quite a few BA's with 18" & 19"

Howzit Gilto ? Go and see Bob & Tom at Bridgestone Tyre Centre in Smithfield Sydney. These guys have had quite a few BA's through their doors. Anything from wheels, suspension, air filters, etc. Last time I was there they had some 19" ROH's with tyres for approx. $2700. Don't quote me on the price, drop in and check them out. They should look after you if you mention FORDXR6TURBO.com. Good luck.
  9. :D Just had the springs in my BA XR8 replaced with lower ones from Lovells. Handling has improved without too much of a compromise on the ride comfort. I would say the comfort levels have dropped approx. 5 %. Well worth it I might add. Have also replaced the standard air filter with a K&N replacement, slight improvement power wise, not too much aurally. :( Will have to investigate installing an induction kit. Anyway, I would like to thank the guys (Bob & Tom) from BT Motorsport / Bridgestone Tyre Centre @ Smithfiled for the installation of springs and filter. Great job for great price. $650 supply and fit springs, filter & wheel alignment.

Hi there. Though I'd drop a line. I've been checking out this website way before I got my XR8 in Sep 03. Great site it is, always enjoy it. What I would like to say is that the XR8 is an awesome machine, the main reason behind that is because it has a Herrod exhaust system. Prior to the exhaust I thought it was quite ordinary (performance wise). Can anyone out there let me know where I can get the induction system for it ? Thanks, and it's good to be back in a Ford again !
