  1. Well, I learned a lesson here. In my haste to try and get it working I missed a fuse. I went back and checked all the fuses again and found the ignition switch fuse had gone. Easy replacement and no harm done to the car, but I feel like an idiot for missing it in the first place. Thanks to all of you for your replies and help. By the way, I still can't get the shift light to work, and ended up speaking to an auto electrician who couldn't work it out either. That means installing the light is either really difficult, or he's not a very good auto electrician. I just believe how hard it is to find a tacho output on my car. Cheers Nick
  2. They're all OK as well. Starting to get a bit worried now.
  3. Here goes, The car doesn't start. It seems that anything that needs the ignition switch to work doesn't work now. For example, the aircon, windows and ICC don't work either, but the interio lights, central locking and alarm do work. The light was earthed properly, and also connected to the powertrain control module. The wire I connected to was located under the steering column, near the base of the bottom piece of trim that's fits on the underside of the steering column. It was the second wire that I had tried, the first one which appeared to be switched 12v didn't work (well the shift light didn't work). The car started OK after trying the first wire. The fuses all seem to be OK. I've checked the ones in the fuse box next to the battery, I don't know of anywhere else to look. Thanks for helping out.
  4. Today I tried to install a shift light. It seemed simple enough, until I connected one of the cables to what I thought was a switched 12v wire. Now none of the electronics work on my car. I'm not where to start looking to try and fix this myself. If I can't fix it today then I'll have to get it towed to the nearest auto electronics place tomorrow. I have a BF XR6 Turbo if that helps. Cheers Nick
