Oil Leak

Featured Replies

Gday guys,

I have an issue with the drian back pipe from the turbo back to the sump leaking.

Took it back to Ford and they tightened it.... next day, smoke burning from the the oil leaking onto the exhaust. Took it back again and the replaced the gaskets. Sure enough next day... guess what, still leaking. Im really stuck now as for some answers as what to do!

Any advice from others experiencing the same problem would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

The pipe itself could be the problem as I have had one leak and all I could do to fix it was replaced the pipe.

Ian

mine has done the same twice now

Called an oil return pipe, and in many factory applications they are prone to cracking

Had a leak at the turbo end.

Couldnt tighten it though as I could only get at one bolt head.

Pulled the turbo out/off replace upper and lower seals.

All good.

The manifold bolts needed tightening anyhow.
