I-pod/aux Connection Issues

Featured Replies

There have been several threads and promises by a lot of folk on this forum about cures to the annoying whine that emanates from the premo radio system, power on or off when aux-in is slected (I understand from one the past threads that the amps stay powered up regardless)....however as yet not one of them appears to have come up with the cause and a solution.

Any takers?

Hey,

ShockF6 as of the end of last week now has a cure for the whine and crap low level of the Aux input.

I've seen it working in his phoon (which had the worst noise I've heard) and in my T.

You can use it for either Ipod/PDA or xbox, but with the xbox it has to be set to a lower gain as the xbox outputs a much higher level than a PDA...

To my knowledge all the units that have been made. have already been promised to people. I've already got mine  If your in melbourne you'll most likely be able to organise to see one in action at least...

Bottom line works and works well...

what is the unit worth & would it be suitable to sort out the same whine that is on the mobile phone circuit?

Am in the ACT but very interested.

Suspect the mobile phone is off the same wiring loom as the aux in.

Aux audio and mobile phone are bound together in the one loom, just different inputs. I haven't tried the mobile phone input becuase I haven't got a car kit...

But wouldn't be to hard to test... I'll let you know.

I got the boost AUX from Ford, installed the other week. I am extremely happy with it and as for the whine....I just tell people that it is the turbo ready to rock!!

If that is the case it would be easy enough to hook an ipod to standard sound, just ground the mute wire & your ipod can play through the stereo, it will just say phone or whatever on it.

If you want to get rid of the whine send me a PM. It will cost you around the same as the boosted ford plug but you will end up with a cleaner signal and NO WHINE

Consider yourself PM'd, look forward to hearing from you.

Will be down on the west side of Melbourne (Pt Melbourne/Williamstown) in a couple of week's time.
