Same Problem, Ford Cleaned it TWICE, they claim that dirt build up from tradesmen causes this problem. On the second occasion I called to make sure it was retracting properly as I wasn't interested in returning a third time, so the guy checked it and told me it still wasn't 100%, I argued that it was a safety issue and he told me ford instructed all service centres to clean and NOT replace them as they would not cover this part under warrenty. he had to submit an application to replace it and lucky they approved the part. in summary ford know its an issue but aren't interested in spending money rectifying a know problem, push them and they may come around.

Yes through the ford dealer, I just purchased mine the other day. adds another 3 years or 160,00 km's whichever comes first. but you MUST purchase it before your current warranty expires, otherwise they will not sell it. I paid $1600 for mine (BA XR6T UTE 2004) Well worth it!!
