Gas motor rods

Hello everyone

Very new to this type of format.

I'm currently building a cobra kit ,powered by a barra.

I purchased a cheap 2009 gas motor and Ive stripped it down.

What I would like to know is, can I fit turbo pistons to gas rods?

Gas pistons having press fit pins, where's turbo having a small end sleeve and floating pins .

My first thought would be to drill out turbo pistons to accommodate gas pressed pins.

Or are their turbo pistons to suit gas rods?

I know of engines  being built with gas pistons ,high compression, using e85 but don't really want to go down that track.

I'm chasing about 500 hp.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Yeah nah if you really wanted to use those rods, you would chuck a bush in the small end, get it honed to suit the turbo pin, then you can use turbo pistons.

For just a couple of hundred more you can get a set of aftermarket rods so yerp, it depends what you want to do really. Would I do it? Yeah nah, aint nobody got time fo dat.
