Anyone using a fg xr6 N/A manual as a drift car wanting to use mine for drifting but not sure if it will work with the high weight and average power

not an ideal platform... no LSD at a minimum, has enough power to turn tyres but you'll have to be on the brake a lot which means it won't be practical for speed related manoeuvres, plus it's heavy so will understeer when you don't want it to unless you spend heaps on suspension and ride adjustment features... by the time you get all the stuff you want to drift it it'll be underpowered for the setup anyway, so you may as well have bought a turbo vehicle and started from a platform with enough potential for power to turn tyres without any brake application...

also the handbrake mechanism is completely useless for starting a slide.

Yes it will work. Best to start will be weld the diff or put a spool in it. The low power means an lsd is more likely to single spin. If you going to be drifting it long term then remove as much interior for less weight. Other then that its about being aggressive on the wheel and maintaining momentum. A low power car to start will teach you to drive a car not just steer the power.
