Wastegate

Recommended Posts

Hello new to the forum

had my 2010 f6 for about 3 years now

I put a 4 inch ultrex exhaust on came up with the p1227 which told me the wastegate flapper was stuck open

so I bought a new wastegate with a  12PSI spring just wondering if that would make it run lean im obviously going to get a tune I just need to know if it is less than ideal to be driving the car with these changes

Cheers

Ummm you’ve pulled that code not because the actuator is stuck but because it’s blowing open faster than the ecu can account for and your actually getting an over boost situation !!

You can’t just dump on a full exhaust system and expect the ecu to control a bunch of additional flow without being tuned to suit

Anything - Except a factory actuator swopped with another factory psi spec actuator will require a custom tune to suit

You don’t need a new actuator, you need a tune as you’ve mentioned but driving it without a tune needs to be super grandma spec as a 12psi actuator can bang in big boost quick and pop an engine
