Hi I just brought a 2013 FG Ute and it’s Quite a interesting buy as it was sold new as a F6 but has no markings  of any kind it’s got the heavy duty 6  speed auto transmission and LSD differential That’s in the turbo and V8 models FPV and XR’s and that’s only the start because it’s got many up graded options and being a LPI Barra that’s not quite standard ether as it’s got no problem blowing away a standard XR6 and putting a XR8 to shame!, I’m looking at getting a turbo fitted to it and fitting a Nitro setup And enter the registered car racing’s seen , everyone feel free to comment and share your knowledge please!!

:Welcome2FordXR6t:

if you bought a FG F6, it won't have an LPI motor, unless something went wrong with the old one and then was replaced with something much cheaper then sold on to you... it should already have a turbocharger etc if it's an F6...

I’m only a novice lol, in back of the owners manual it’s got F6 you may be right, I’m the second owner and the person that brought it new was trying to hide what it really is , It’s got all the XR gear but not one letter or number, inside or out, it was very well thought out that by  somebody  and would of been a special order only from the factory!, the LPI engine is built heavy duty and I don’t have to worry about the transmission or differential just engine!, is there anyone that would have the knowledge and ability to do it right the first time doing a turbo upgrade?,

Here’s the Vin 6FPAAAJ6CMDU26530, I’m going off what’s been written in the owners manual and I’m sure it’s 26530 but the 6 could be a “b” it’s got F6 MK11 SSB utility so its got me interested in finding out what I did buy !

To K31 , from 2012 I think all ford performances cars and Ute were put together in house meaning at the factory and the LPI engine was only made from 2012 to 2016 something like that, and you had to ask for that engine and came with a different 6 speed auto on the column and when you could buy a new ford and had the money to spend, you could of got anything put in stuck on or taken out, I phoned the dealership today and The last owner told him It’s a upgraded LPI and has 210KW’s , I know that the rear end is a upgrade because of the type of spare wheel, the guy only sold it because he lost his job and has family to Look after!, honestly the only difference between a standard Barra and One with a turbo Is the head, the LPI is something quite different and are not cheap to replace!,

yes, of course you can option whatever the dealer will allow you to option... but why would you pay more to downgrade the engine? it's just silly.

I don’t know why,He Paid top dollar for that Ute buying the heavy duty 6speed transmission that Ford had a clutch overhaul to handle the power of the last ford FG’ high powered vehicles and the LSD Would not be cheap and get this it has a one tonne rear load rating with a 3500kg rated tow bar!, and there’s lots more like a brand new ARB canopy that’s the one designed special for utes I was told it’s worth a couple of thousand dollars how can I put photos up on here? As soon as people see the profile of the Ute will see straight away that it’s not a standard XT, I also own a 2008 FG XR6 sedan with the sport’s 5 speed auto, the only reason it has a bad rep is people didn’t change the fluid every 30k and They overheated and Cost at least $1000 to fix or Had to get a new one!,
