Yes as I'm planning on quite a few mods it will be quite a different car. Just if it's better to start with a FG and enjoy it stock for a while or get the BA and start on some mods.

Don't want to want  an FG a year down the track after spending $ on mods for a BA

A BA with 10k of mods can get in the bin if your starting from scratch.

You'd spend the money, still need more for bolt ons then have an engine and trans that are on a fast track to snap city.

Not to mention all the maintenance a 17yo car needs.

IMHO get an already modified FG so there's nothing left to do.

If you love the ba/bf shape then get that but make sure it's the right model. The ba isn't the right model for upgrading.

that's not correct... 10k can get you plenty of the way towards a fantastic vehicle with plenty of speed and reliability.

You and I and the local cat all know that a BA Falcon is the worst platform for modding.

10 grand will get you about 30% of the way into a reliable, fast daily.

A bfmk2 is a different story.

of course it's not the best platform, but you can buy heaps of mods for 10k which gets you further into the territory than you'd imagine, especially if you source them cheap.
