2008 Territory Upgrades

Hello, New to the forum hope I am posting this in the right place.

I have a 2008 Territory Turbo Ghia

The car has 250,000 kms, during my ownership it has had the head skimmed and gasket replaced new oil pump and sump gasket, turbo was rebuilt and also the transmission has been overhauled.

I am wanting to modify it a little, I use it occasionally to tow my boat, but mainly used as a family car to get the kids to school etc. I just want a bit more power.

I have a set of 1000cc injectors that a friend of mine gave me, will these be too big?

Is the factory exhaust (debunged) any good or is it worth replacing?

Is the factory intercooler worth replacing with a mace upgraded one?

Should I consider doing a cold air intake or is a high performance filter sufficient?

Should I upgrade the fuel pump, if so any suggestions?

Any other suggestions, easy upgrades that can net a couple more horsepower?

A friend of mine works at our local dyno tuning shop so he will be tuning it for me, 100 octane is readily avaliable where I live so will be tuned on that.

Thanks for any help I really appreciate it

Regards

Cam

Also I forgot to mention I have a budget of upto $3000 New Zealand. I already have the injectors and the dyno tuning will be done for free as a friend owes me a few favours 😁 thanks

no, 1000cc isn't too big

factory exhaust de-bunged is a must for any tune and doesn't strictly need to be replaced until a fair bit of power

no idea if mace are any good replacements... but of course if you want better cooling overall then almost any aftermarket is worth replacing it with.

cold air intake is only necessary if you're going to fairly high power. Just a reasonable filter on the stock air intake is fine.

yes, the fuel pump will need upgrading. At minimum a Walbro 255lph

Hi K31th, thanks for your reply.

I think I am going to order, the mace top mount intercooler, mace throttle controller, high flow air filter, and new spark plugs, I already have the 1000cc injectors and the exhaust has already been debunged. With 100 octane what sort of power do you think I could expect? Is it also worth upgrading to a Sequential blow off valve while I'm at it?

Thanks for your help

Sorry I also forgot to ask what sort of PSI would be safe to run, 10psi?

BOV is purely for aesthetics, so it's up to you on that one.

it's much harder to give estimates on power for territories.. whatever it makes is good enough :)

your tuner will determine the safe level of boost to run based on the hardware you've got. Also get the tuner's opinion if there's any other hardware you might want to get.
