so does it happen at low speed, high speed, turning corners fast/slow, going over bumps, parking etc? what's the actual sound it's making, is it making any other obvious physical noises/bumps through the steering/suspension?

The noises in the steering happen wen turning going slow I am not shore if this is from fast sharp turning of the steering wheel or not I not shore and when you hit the slightest bump in the road it feels like it bottoms out

That's pretty normal for air to get into the steering rack and you get that sort of "grinding/bumping" thing when you're parking (or you might have a power steering leak either at the boots or at the steering reservoir outlet etc).

If you have worn bump stops then that would explain the "bottom out" feeling. Get a suspension place to look at that stuff.
