Hey people, I have a 2007 MK2BF, everything is stock.

I noticed my car lacking power and could hear a boost leak.

Inspected all boost pipes, found pipe on the front of the turbo had come off. Re fitted and tightened, and test drove. Can hear turbo spooling but still has air / boost leak.

Turned out my waste gate actuator was faulty.

I replaced the actuator and test drove again. Now I cant hear or feel the turbo spooling, but it was before I changed the actuator.

Anybody have an idea what the issue could be?

Another faulty actuator? Blocked Cat?

Thanks in advance

try connecting the front nipple of the turbocharger directly to the wastegate nipple and that'll tell you if you've got a physical problem with the wastegate or flapper if the problem remains, otherwise it'll point to a problem separate to the boost control (e.g. a leak).

If it doesn't make 8ish psi connecting like that it'll be a boost leak etc.

Hey mate, did what you said. Actuator was fine. Pulled out my cat to have a look coz I couldnt find a boost leak or any other issues. Cat was blocked. Knocked it out and now she boost killer. Gonna upgrade my exhaust. Can you recommend a exhaust and Cat? Cheers mate

well, if you've knocked out the contents of your cat, then that's the main restriction in the exhaust and it might even overboost now and you'll need a tune to suit any major changes to the flow of the exhaust... so whatever style exhaust you like you can get or you can stick with what you've got and get it tuned to suit the empty cat.
