Obd2 scanner results

Recommended Posts

I finally got a scanner to find the airbag fault and am now seeing this, wasnt as simple as I was hoping... does anyone know what the issue is here apart from the obvious before I throw parts and time at it? And seeing as these problems have nothing to do with the airbags why are unrelated problems setting the airbag light off?

RCM is the "Restraint Control Module", FYI.

P0238 points to "Boost Pressure Sensor Circuit High" and it's voltage range should be 0.3 (10kPa) to 3.7V (200kPa) so that'd suggest it's getting values outside of that and it points to a dead BPS or dying sensing of this specific circuit in the PCM.

P0532 points to the fault of "Air Conditioner Pressure Transducer low input" which points to the ACPT sensor having an issue or the dying sensing of this specific circuit in the PCM.

P2135 points to "Throttle Position Sensor 1 & 2 Voltage Correlation Fault" which points to an open circuit to ground or the PCM has damage or is faulty.

Based on those 3, I'd replace the BPS first and see if it at least resolves the P0238 and if it doesn't it sounds like your PCM is damaged or faulty.

Thanks heaps! Do you think those faults have anything to do with why im getting code 5-2 on the airbag light?

Aw hang on I understand now...so its not actually the airbag light that's on? Is it actually called rcm light?

Probably related... And the light is just indicating a fault in the airbag system in general, which includes the RCM, so yeah, it's possible that's the cause of the light, but I've never heard of a "5-2" error.

Oh, that's what you mean by that...

The trouble codes are enough without knowing anything specific to how often or how long the ABS fault light will be illuminated.

So do you think it will just need to be reset or would I need to replace sensors etc?

I have custom piping put on which last owner did so im wondering if he hasnt even put in a presure sensor with thr piping

It's impossible to know what you'll need done until you do some basic testing. You can take the car to a specialist and get them to look into the problem or continue to go a little blindly.

No worries. Good luck with solving the problem and be sure to keep us updated with regard to any changes or fixes :)

Turns out it was the typical connection under the seat issue.. have you ever hardwired yourself? Did u just use a crimp with connecting plugs?

Just been into ford and it was my passenger airbag plug faulty, gave it a push around then the light went off.. yay.. but keeps coming back on and now giving code 22 instesd of 55 like before (does this sound like iv made another problem or is it normal to throw different codes?) Any who it wont go off at all now when I wriggle it round so thinking of hardwiring it... anyone done this before? And any tips? Wasjust going to use a crimp and some connector plugs and hope for the best...
