Hey everyone logn time reader first time poster, just curious about the Haltech plug & Play I have my BA Turbo booked in next week for the install and tune I have heard great things on these things just wanted your thoughts on them here is a list of things done to my car I am really unsure of what power it is going to make.

* H beam rods

* Mahle pistons

* Head studs

* Atomic oil gears

* Upgraded Valve springs

* GTX3582R Gen 2

* Walbro 470 pump

* Bosch 044 feeding a 2 lt surge tank

* Processwest fuel rail

* 1000cc injectors

* Turbo smart fuel regulator FPR 800

* And will have Haltech to go with all this

* Bigger intercooler

* Standard intake

* Standard exhaust manifold

* 4inch dump with 3 1/2 xforce exhaust

Everything is all brand new so definitely keen to see what it makes on 98 I would run e85 but where I am the servos do not have it so I am limited any feedback would be appreciated cheers.

Very nice build you have there. I think if you go E85 the only limitation will be your injectors - but should still get 450-500rwwk.

Any of the options could be used to tune your car - from pcmtec, SCT, or haltech. Depends on your tuner and what you want to achieve.

I use a haltech as I make use of the failsafes and flex tune, and like live tuning.

Have you looked at brakes/suspension/driveline?

Who is your tuner?

Hey sixman thanks for the reply. I have thought about upgrading the brakes but have not got that far as yet and suspension is running all pedders super lows but I am keen to get coil overs at some stage.

I am taking the car to Phantom Performance in Ipswich he has worked on the car before with the old engine.

I have the plug & play Haltech.

wouldn’t do it for your setup, stock ecu is fine.

Also if you are running BTR 4 speed Haltech won’t work. If your 6 speed manual ok, but again no need to go Haltech.

They can be very fickle to setup and get right.

You probably should upgrade the 044 pump to something better like a pierberg. Then you could even run E85 later.

Is Jamie at Forced Perfomance accessible for you? He seems to be the go to guy for Barra tuning up your way, has the runs on the board. Would be worthwhile going to a "local" tuner who knows what to do with your mods.

Yeah I have heard good things from them guys, the only reason I am going to the other guys is they know my car.
