Hi Everyone,

Just bought a very tidy 2008 G6e Turbo with only 90K on the clock, looking to do some mods and a tune in the near future.

What I am after is advice on a couple specific things.

Where to get Diff Bushes replaced in Sydney? I've called around and there is a huge variance in price, from $500 to $2000. How much should I expect it to cost?

Which aftermarket bushes are the way to go? I'm leaning towards Superpro, Kit210K

Who are the top recommended tuners in the Sydney Area?

Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

$700 to $1000 is around the price for a diff bush replacement (90% of the work is labour time, so the price varies based on the labour rate of the workshop). Any aftermarket is fine as long as it has "voids" in it to allow it to flex a little bit, or it may crack/break the diff bush bolt if you get a solid bush. The flexibility of the bush you choose changes how much NVH you get in the driveline. Just go with whichever workshop sounded reasonable in price and advice on the phone.

for tuning, have a read of this thread and ring around and make your choice :) https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/82602-recommended-tuner-workshop-new-south-wales/

Thanks k31th, I'll keep your bushes advice in mind.

Cheers for the thread, I was hoping for some more recent info / advice from people who have had first hand experience with some Tuners in Sydney.

Given they all claim to  be best and know something that the other shop doesn't... Just trying to filter out the bad places really.

Tuners: CMS / Crescent Motorsport in Prestons, Autotech in Granville

There is also Precision Racing in Riverstone - no comment on them here that I know of, but one of the co-owners (Joe) used to come on here regularly (@Peppy_t92) when he was just working on his own car. He also ran his own show Hoontune for a while and seems to have a pretty good rep in the barra scene.

Hi MenaceG6ET,

I have this exact kit in my FGX G6ET for about 20K (because at 16K on the Odo the ford one had already broken), I've been really happy as they haven't compromised the comfort ride at all an so far are holding up well.

The only thing I can say that I notice is under full throttle in 2nd gear at about 80kph I can hear a little bit of extra noise through the rear suspension, that's it.

BTW if your gonna drop the ass out of your car to re-do the diff bushes ect, do all of the replacable parts (rose joints ect) and if you dont already have an LSD, might as well sort that out too...

Thanks DrG6E.

If the trade off is just a little noise for a sturdy set of Bushes, I'll be happy with that.

A friend recommended that I also change it to LSD whilst I have the diff out. Can't say I have heard Rose joints, but will look into it.

Any tips on sourcing a LSD Diff? Would you go 2nd hand or buy aftermarket?

I ended up getting the Superpro kit installed on my BF, and agree 95% of the time they are perfect and quiet but yeah agree with DRG6E there is a bit of a harmonic drone at around 80kph that does make the cabin a bit noisier.

I’ve just done the blade bushes too and between the two upgrades it feels like a new car... Well worth it..

I went the Borg Warner / Dana LSD centre ( Same as XR6T ) new from a reseller and have been very happy with it. I'm not sure I would go a second hand unit though. I purchased the diff centre before the car went in to get the bushes done, that way when the diff was out it was able to go to a diff specialist to get the centers swapped over that day.

Some people go the true track versions ect. But they may not behave as you would expect a traditional LSD to behave.

Hi Guys,

Just thought I'd add what I found. I was quoted 'approximately' $800 for supply and fitment of SuperPro Diff Bush Centre and sides on FG Falcon G6ET.

This was from ZOOM Automotive in Riverstone NSW.
