I must admit, I didnt check up on whats available, just seems most forums people say there isnt the choice in WA, and prices are higher. Certainly better if can shop local.

I don't think the ba came in purple but the interior shot is definitely a 4 speed. Assuming it has the zf

And it has been well looked after with low k's the price isn't too bad. With the stronger rods I guess it depends on what power you are wanting out of the car

The photos might not be of the exact car. That happens a lot of carsales. They probably just used photos they had of another car in the same colour.

Might be a coincidence the Kms, color and plates are the same discribed then

Even if low kms and well looked after it's still overpriced in my opinion. And the fact that the OP's mate is considering modding (if asking about the rods) then might aswell go BFII to be sure. The couple of $$ more for a newer model will save you the $$ in the future if you snap a rod

I thought all bf motors got the better springs?

From what I understand the fat rods were introduced with the release of the Territory Turbo in mid 2006,

all BF's have heavy duty valve springs and dual independent valve timing.

I have an 05 BF1 and it had the weaker springs (same as BA).

Who knows BigAl? Mine is a late April 06 Mk1 and it received Heavy Duty springs. That said, Ford is reknowned for dipping into the parts bin and not dipping into the parts bin when it comes to manufacturing. For example, some BF XR's got illuminated door switches and others didn't, perhaps all because the person on the floor couldn't be bothered putting in the LEDs or Ford had none in stock?

As far as I know the improvements to engine components was as at BFII. I am pretty sure they got the same engine as the F6, but with the smaller intercooler and less powerful turbo, of the XR6T. If this information is correct, it gives that model a much stronger engine for pulling more Kw out when tuning.
