I have spent countless amounts of time trying to find the answer to this but cant seem to.

I have a 2009 FG XR6 and want to upgrade the ICC to the color screen. The ICC I am looking at is out of a FG G6E turbo and it has the six stacker CD player and I believe dual zone climate control. Am I correct in assuming all the G6E models had dual zone climate control? The seller doesn't seem to know if it has dual zone climate control is there any way to tell just from looking at the unit provided its out of the car?

My question is will there be an issue installing this ICC into a car that is single zone. I actually dont want the dual zone set up I just want the color screen. So if I get this and install it will it cause any issues or will my air conditioning just work as normal?

Second part is if the new ICC has 6 stacker CD player and the original car doesn't will this just work in the new unit once its installed or will there be issues around this also?

Last questions I see heaps of comments that once installed it needs to be re coded however there are videos on youtube and other forums that all that needs to be done to avoid this is swap the stereo part over from the old ICC to the new one and it works perfectly.

Any feedback on this would be much appreciated as im sort of stuck on what I should do not knowing 100% the answers to the above.

Cheers

Take a look at the unit.

Single zone has a temp setting on one side and a heat setting on the other.

Dual zone have temp settings on both sides

it'll work fine. but if you want something better for potentially cheaper, then this one is the way to go

Thanks Rab & keith. So it is dual zone looking at the pictures. As it has the temp on the dual zone is on both sides and the fan speed button in the middle is there any issues considering the single zone ICC unit has the fan speed on the left and the temp on the right. My question what button will work on the dual zone for the heating the right or the left and will the fan speed button work being in a different location?

Cheers

I looked at the thread you referred me to Keith. That does look good but I really dont want any of that stuff just the colour screen. The one for sale im looking at is only $350 also. I just want to make sure everything will work including my heating and air conditioning as per normal otherwise for the hassle I wont bother.

Just another question guys so I noticed on the display that there is a left and right hand side for the dual zone. As it will be operating as only single zone I am wondering whether it will still display the same as a dual zone with the temp, fan speed and direction of the air flow in both the right and left side or will it show just on one side or not at all.

I am assuming that it will show the same temp, fan speed and air flow direction on both sides being a single zone?

Lastly I keep hearing mixed reports that it needs to be coded. But then I see videos and hearing that if you just switch the stereo part over from your original ICC to the new one its works fine. Can you please confirm if this is fact or not?

Cheers again

I'm not sure what it'll show in terms of the numbers, but I'd assume they'll sync up.

This 'coding' is probably referring to taking it to a specialist to get it setup as a single zone software on it. The stereo will definitely work fine with or without coding.
