Great Ocean Road -> Adelaide Cruise Fri 12th July - Mon 15th

Recommended Posts

It's cruising time and this will be a good one. We're looking at a Great Ocean Road cruise, plus a little extra, up to mid north S.A, for the folks who have extra time.

We're looking to head to Anglesea to meet up Friday afternoon/evening with the Vic crew. Saturday Great Ocean Road and stay Mt Gambier.  Sunday Limestone Coast to finish up somewhere in Adelaide Hills for dinner.  Then VIC/ACT crew head home from Adelaide Monday morning.

Monday cruise to Port Augusta and return to South of Adelaide, via inland, to a spot to be chosen, for heading home.

Sightseeing location and food stops suggestions along the way are welcomed, as are any other suggestions. I'm keen for Naracoorte caves.

Who's coming? I'll update this post as it grows. I'll post more info as needed. Everyone is welcome :)

Note: date is during school holidays for SA and Vic - accommodation will be subject to vacancies

Accommodation Suggestions:

Friday 12th Anglesea Caravan Park

Sat 13th Beachport Motor Inn or Beachport Caravan Park

Sunday 14th Mannum Caravan Park

Monday 15th Twowells Tavern

I spose we should sort out some accommodation soon. I've had a look and narrowed the first night down to a couple of places. Haven't really looked further yet.

Are we going out for dinner or should we cook where we stay? I like cooking and I'm sure we can sort out some good food "at home".

Spewing you're not in Vic - they'd be sure to call a strike with everyone heading back to school/work

Recently on the cruises we've tried to make one of the nights a cooked meal/bbq or at least a lunch of BBQ snags etc

The Friday is probably out as people will be coming at different times - sat in Mt Gambier or Sunday (depending on where we are and the weather) could be a great time for it.

So far it's just me, @Rab and @EvilDaifu. There will be more kids than adults at this rate.

I'm going to drive there over the course of two days, to make it easier on the family. If there are any S.A members thinking about coming, feel free to meet up and leave on the Thursday with us, or meet up halfway on the Friday.

Edit: I don't mind doing a detour to meet up with Vic members on Thursday afternoon or Friday morning as well.
