Report post #1 Posted 03/02/19 09:16 AM Hey guys, I had my car tuned and even though I missed out by .2 kw I'm still pretty happy with the way the car feels. Stage 1 plazmaman intercooler Turbo side intake Venom highflow cat Bosch 1000cc Injectors Car has made 299.8 rwkw. 13/14 psi, 98 fuel The tune was done on a 40 degree day so I'd say if it was cooler I may have cracked the 300 Eventually I'm aiming for 350 mark. Tuner has recommended next step would be to highflow the turbo. I dont want to go over 350 but whatever the cheapest and safest options are I'm listening.. 2 Go to top

Report post #8 Posted 03/02/19 10:41 AM Haha had a feeling that comment might come. Thanks I always said I'd be happy with 300 but I think now 350 might be a little more suitable lol 1 Go to top
Report post #9 Posted 03/02/19 10:58 AM You'll be looking at some bigger changes to get to the 350 from the FG Turbo. As in a bigger turbo. With you running a manual and at 300 there is still a bit more play to go all things being equal, but it'll mainly be tuning and where the power comes on that you'll be able to play with unless you want to go E85 All in all, you're probably close to the power you'll get to, but can ask the tuner to make it a bit "scarier" for you if you want. More than that - you'd be looking at new turbo, fuel system, exhaust etc (swap in and out) to get big gains. The FG turbo tops out around the 320 if everything aligns on a good day (running 98 fuel and your system supports it - pumps, exhaust etc) Go to top
Report post #10 Posted 03/02/19 11:20 AM I dont want to go e85... Will highflowing the fg turbo get me there? Along with a full exhaust? Ported 64mm billet wheel hybrid turbo Garrett actuator, 40mm inconel flapper, hand ported waste gate.. that's what has been listed. I'm abit new to all this so any information is helpful. Report post #11 Posted 03/02/19 11:44 AM it would, but you probably don't want a 64mm turbo. that's too big for a 350 aim. Go to top

Report post #15 Posted 03/02/19 11:49 PM There will only be a couple of hundred rpm difference between a gtx wheel and a 64mm wheel. Imho the benefits of having a slightly larger turbo far outweigh the couple of hundred rpm difference in spool. Go to top
Report post #16 Posted 04/02/19 01:00 AM I know where you're coming from puff....semi rural SA....pun intended...and if driving mostly on open roads I'd 100% agree with you. But if you spend most your life in 40 to 80kmh traffic through suburbia and industrial estates etc, a few hundred rpm in spool time can be a huge difference, especially in those 60kay roll ons 😉 Go to top
Report post #17 Posted 04/02/19 01:31 AM Haha it's fully rural out here mate. Brb fitting gtx45r to territory Go to top
Report post #18 Posted 04/02/19 03:00 AM Why is everyone worried about a few hundred rpm, if your going to race someone you'll be up in the revs anyway brake boosting that sh*t and snapping driveshafts. 1 Go to top

Report post #21 Posted 04/02/19 08:45 AM Yeh I dont think I'm too worried about a couple rpm... a little off topic but the tuner has also recommended at the same time to fit surge tank. Now I know there are plenty of threads, one long one in particular but still unsure whether its needed for 340 -350 rwkw I really dont want to spend the extra $1500 or so but definitely want to be on the safe side... what are your thoughts Go to top
Report post #22 Posted 04/02/19 08:51 AM (edited) If you want to be able to safely floor it with half a tank of fuel or less, you'll need one. You can drive around it by always keeping the tank over 3/4, but it's a bit of a pain in the butt to have to worry about it constantly.
