Hi guys just wanted to see if anyone knows the config of the factory o2 setups on BF falcons. These have 2 sensors one in dump pipe and one post Cat. Im planning to replace my Cat with a hi flow Venom bolt in unit. While I as there I was hopeing I can swap the rear o2 with a Wideband o2 to aid with my tuning. Is this doable, does the rear o2 do anything in the factory tune. I noted in the HP tuners menu under o2 sensors I only has 1 set as number of o2 sensors from factory.

Any info would be great... cheers. Allen

Just get a tuner (or yourself) to disable the rear sensor as it's only for emissions and if you take it out it'll put a light on the dash. Once it's removed, of course you can replace it with whatever you want.

Or get a bung welded in just before the cat. Like k31th said, the rear 02 sensor is for the ecu to check how well the cat is working. (which is not very well with most aftermarket cats) The cats are less resistive which is why the car goes' better (until it overboosts & buggers the engine)

Don't use the rear location for a wideband - it is not an ideal spot for an accurate reading. You want to be between the first sensor and the cat.

Exhaust place only charged me $30 to weld in a new bung for the wideband.

If you turn off the rear sensor you can leave it there, or fit a plug to fill the hole.
