For those of you who have replaced injectors in an FG, is it necessary to remove the oetiker clamps that hold the fuel supply and return lines to the rail in order to get the rail off far enough to remove the injectors?

Went to do the job last night but with limited time. Once I saw those clamps I bailed - they look like they are in a pretty difficult position to get to and in my case the loop part of the clamp was around the back.

On further thought today, I also wonder if removing the quick connect from the lines under the car would let the rail move enough, rather than undoing the rail end of the fuel lines.

Other than that, the job looked pretty straightforward.

Any assistance much appreciated!

Remove TB pipe, remove TB

undo x4 8mm fuel rail bolts

leave rail lines as is

pull rail up and all x6 injectors will come up out of the intake ports

remove injectors, install injectors

insert all x6 into intake port

bolt down and away you go

make sure all old bottom and top O rings stay attached to old injectors

use Inox spray to lubricate the new injector O rings

make sure injector position clips go back on correctly

scale injectors and tune to suit

should take literally 20 minutes to R&R injectors on a FG turbo ;)
