I just leave it off, personally. Never had a problem as long as you tighten the manifold bolts/nuts often enough. :)

Its there for a reason, but it back on....

Ok new actuator fitted turbo smart 7.5 psi all good boost wise now not exceeding 8psi on gauge decided to give car a good run am now at bottom of South Island and what days know engine just cuts out while idling along it turns over good but won’t fire towed to garage no fault codes registered have ordered new fuel pump as mechanic thinks this is issue any advice 

 

What days was whaddayaknow

Swap the fuel pump and let us know. I'm sure the mechanic would have listened to it priming or rather the lack of it priming so you should be sweet after this.

 

It should be pretty cheap too as the pump doesn't cost much and it doesn't take long to install.

Good job on getting it sorted... It's a reasonably common thing to occur when fuel pumps are installed.
