Well about 2 weeks out and the weather looks okay for that weekend - as usual - in the alpine regions it can be unpredictable.  So here's Weatherzone's 28 day rain prediction - looks mostly dry that weekend - will have a better idea from BOM end of next week :beerchug:

Hey @demon1300 what's the progress on your car mate?

Interstate work is coming in thick and fast but I've managed to keep next weekend clear

Also fitted the replacement SS Inductions Growler air filter pod inbetween Sydney trips - farrk its all about planning ...  Has extra metal ring around the front to re-inforce it.  Figured I'd replace it as some of the rubber material around the end had perished a bit and I could see air gaps through it - sounds like mine was one of the earlier pods.  SS Inductions told me just wash it with warm soapy water then spray WD40 on it instead of using the K&N filter cleaning stuff as its just a cloth filter with metal mesh.

Quick reminder to all Mexicans, election voting while we're away.

Maybe try to get in early or postal.

Gonna be cold up there - light snow in some places on Friday but BOM says no snow on Saturday ...

There's early voting booths at Melbourne Airport as well I just noticed.

Guys, I unfortunately won't make it...

The cars still not back together and we're still waiting on the MK1 Haltech firmware for the computer.

Really bummed I'll miss out, I'll most definitely make it next year. I may even try and get to Melbourne or surrounding areas in the next few months if there are any cruises going on

Hey next time then.

Just checking road events and road works.

1. We will encounter the Hartley Cycle Challenge with cyclists between Thredbo and Jindabyne potentially on the Saturday and Sunday.  When I did a search during these dates earlier in the year - this event didn't come up (but guess it should have as it looks like an annual event but maybe the dates don't solidify until later in the year).  Not much I can do about it now except glad they are only a small section of the route.  I also don't know when they will be on the road.  But good thing we have booked our accomodation (I remember talking the hotel in Jindabyne about events as well and this didn't come up).  We will probably encounter them late in the day Saturday and/or early Sunday morning.  If I remember rightly one year we came across a large spread out peloton but there were police motocyclists shepharding cars through (even around corners which was convenient) - so we were slowed but it was not intolerable delays.

2. For the ACT guys coming from the north into Tumut - just beware of road works happening north of Tumut.

3.  There are some minor road damage near Omeo and Hotham but the roads are open.

4. Coming home the Great Victorian Bike Ride will be on around Myrtleford.  Not sure if it will affect us greatly at this stage.

5. Snow showers are above 1400 metres but as far as I can tell - all the roads we will be on are below 1400 metres elevation (including past Threadbo).

But it is the Alpine region and things change quickly.  Weather is a bit cloudy with some showers according to BOM.  It's hard to tell as Alpine region weather so changeable.  So nobody will be driving with sun roof open on this cruise I suspect :roflmbo:   Might get some good smattering of snow by the roadside pics though   Just to let you know - I drove through Kiandra once during July and there was light snow by the roadside but they have some road clearing trucks working in the area to keep the roads clear.

That was the Tassie cruise, out of Queenstown, after Nelson Falls through to Derwent Bridge, where we had lunch and they were stopping for the day?

Police escort round blind turns on the wrong side of the road etc.

Hey guys, unfortunately I'm having to pull out due to family reasons.

I've been trying over the last couple of weeks to get it to the stage where I'm able to come, but wasn't able to pull it off :(

I'll definitely be there with you in spirit and refreshing to page repeatedly for news of the cruise.

Unfortunately there'll be less GoPro footage for this one - and you'll all need to drink a lot more beer in the evenings to account for my absence.

Have a great and safe trip guys - see you all on the next one.
