Power Steering Pump Resealing - How to remove the Circlip?

If anyone has removed the circlip with success can you please let me know how to? Been at this clip for over an hour. Tried scribe, screwdrivers, G-clamping, nothing will move it and there is no holes - its just a piece of metal.

Need to make sure that cap is pressed or clamped down enough so there's no pressure on that wire ring. Maybe even put a socket between the cap and g-clamp so you're compressing more towards the OD of the cap. 

 

Looks like you should be able to get a right angle seal pick in that gap at end the of the ring and force it between the ring and and the groove. If you don't have a seal pick maybe try a sharp wood chisel and try forcing that in between the ring and the top edge of the groove.

Well there you go. See I wouldn't waste my time rebuild . I would just buy a new one.

It comes off!

 

Mine does not come off like this, he seems to have enough clearance underneath. Spent 2 hours just trying to get this clip off. I give up. Wreckers $40 used pump it ended up being.
