When launching an automatic car, should I be using traction control or no traction control, And what is the best way to launch an auto.

No, turn off all traction control if you're comfortable with handling the power you are pushing through it.

Start engine. Disable traction control (press or hold button) select D for drag. Hold the brake down hard and depress the accelerator to the floor. let go of the brake while holding accelerator to the floor and off ya go.

 

remember D is for Drag and to take a big poo before getting in your car to reduce weight for a noticeable gain in performance.

Not every p-plater can afford a VN.

 

The cool ones drive FWD cars anyway - they get to avoid LSD/single spinner issues entirely.

No way at all to get the rear end pointing the wrong way unless they're really advanced.

 

The even can get ones with a "power/economy" button to further fine tune the performance to the conditions.

'I had a mate' who used to do skids in his FWD aurion with the 200kw v6 on his red P plates. scared the jesus out of me and the front tyres looked like the rear tyres of a typical XR6t/SS.....
